Default Schade's NA Miata

Thought its time to make a build log for my 96' Miata. Got it April of 2011.. I was so happy.

Forgot what it had on the ticker then. I think it was around 94000?

she came with these weird Borbets.. I had this cheapass attitude and bought NB Rokkors and got 20 mm spacers from my uncle.

Ended up with this.

Eventually my ignorant self got some 15x8 0 offset XXRs and painted em white.

With a Touge Run lip, I achieved this:

but then my track fiend friends got to me..

..and I grew tired of scraping and crawling around. I impulsively traded my XXRs away for some 15x6.5 slipstreams. (which I will get a good pic of soon)

For Christmas, I received a Momo Devil steering wheel and a hub as well as a short ***** shifter. Crappy pic:

I don't drive her during the winter. The radiator had a leak so I ordered a koyo automatic oem replacement from eBay. Stuck and I really don't know what to do to it now. Raised the car this past week too.

you can just plug up the transmission hole thing and use it. its not a big deal that its automatic OEM replacement.

lookin good though, when do you plan to get out to the track?

I intend to use the automatic radiator, didn't know about plugging the transmission hole thing though. I bought it on purpose because I read that a lot of spec miata drivers recommended it.

I seriously dont know if I can even make it to the track this year, Track. There's a lot of prep work involved and I'm too broke atm. Maybe I'll do some autocross events with Mazduh, Shane and the others though.

Question: Friend is welding me a spec roll bar in the summer -- will it add a lot of weight? Its gonna suck having barely any hp and then adding weight. -__-"

For track events, I plan todo a couple gingerman test and tune days. They are during the week, low traffic and under $100. I've know a couple people that have done it. Gingerman is a nice track and not too far from us. Last year some m.net guys did a meet up there, I just couldn't get away from work.

Thanks for the praise.

Those 3 friends of mine are Gingerman regulars. Thats where I plan to lap if ever in the future too. There are events such as WangFest hosted by ProFunction and the West Michigan Honda Meet that goes down every summer.

When you say during the week, do you mean Monday through Friday? Making it to a track day is still a long shot for me, seeing as how I'll only have a set of falken zi-ex'es for this year. So new tires, a brake setup, my timing belt & water pump... everything adds up lol. Maybe if someone's willing to lend me some tires I'll try and go.

I don't know, what is so special about the automatic radiator? I thought it had another tube to go to the trans, so what do you do with that?

I don't know how, but I'm guessing it has something to do with it slightly having more fluid capacity. as for the tube for the automatic trans -- I found this on M.net :

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=353162

"No need to do anything with them. They are just the ends of a short spiral tube inside."
