Default Exhaust Advice

i really hate the exhaust thats was on my car when i bought it, to rice for me. im thinking about doing a full custom, but idk.
i like the sound of FM's turbo exhaust but im going to try to do it on the cheap. so what pieces and parts should i start picking up, im think cat-less as well, in either 2.5 or 3in pipe.

Magnaflow's longest oval case muffler with 3" in and out, and 3" pipe. Most muffler shops can do a 3 inch for you decently and install the muffler if you buy it from Summit or Jeg's. The Miata is pretty simple and straightforward for an exhaust system. Any redneck shop can do it.

If you decide later you want even quieter, you can always have them add another small muffler or resonator where the cat was.

I figured it would need a resonator while it was Being made to keep the buzzy sound of the 4cyl down.

I don't know what price range you are looking at but Abe from ARTech quoted me 475 w/o cat and 575 with cat for a full stainless work of art. Pretty good deal to me.

my price range is as cheap as possible, i dont care if its stainless or not, my plan was to have a local exhaust shop build it for me, put my current back on. then i will hit it with a black engine paint, install. profit.

I'd go 3" over 2.5"...price difference between the two should be minimal. Get a quote from local shop... they might not carry 3" on hand, which could jack the price up a little. If it's in the 450 ballpark, then go ARTech 100%. I'd only do local exhaust shop if it was way less than that...like 200 range. It will be crush bent, aluminized piping (more than likely)...450-475 for what ARTech does is a very good price (quality, fitment, material cost)

But meh, if they can do crush bent 3" exhaust for super cheap and you paint it...that's not a bad budget route at all.
