A place where nitrous and carbs fit in?

Hey, I am highly considering a smaller turbo/nitrous set up. A 2560 or 2860 for screwing around and making good nice power, and about 100-150hp of nitrous when I absolutely have to murder someone in a straight line.

My buddy uses nitrous as a spool aid on a larger turbo setup. He picked up 150hp on a 50hp shot in the spooling-up part of his dyno graph at the same rpm level. The nitrous will give your exhaust pressure a kick in the pants that will make the turbo spin faster. Unless you have a really good sized wastegate you might overboost when you hit the button so size the wastegate accordingly. Turbos and nitrous are supposed to be very complementary due to the additional cooling effect of the nitrous on the intake side.

I like it bud! It's very interesting to see the other side of turbo/supercharger stuff. I don't think I have the ***** to go carb though. I am interestedin keeping up with ur specs though. I did take some time to check out the webber site.
What are u using to control the timing, fuel, and AF ratios?
Welcome man!

He is using the Electromotive for timing but the fuel is all carb jetting and I have talked to him about going to a wideband to determine what is really going on with his mixture. He is pretty good at guessing, but that is still just guessing.

Keep, I am very happy with the set up. It needs some refining, but it really runs good, and is fun to drive. Drivability is great.
As far as tuning, it in not exactly guessing. There are formulas that get you in the jetting ballpark, and then I use the E.T. and mph to see if I am going in the right direction. Electronics will get you in the ballpark as well, but to get every last mph, it still involves fine tuning via track time.
Sixshooter is right however, I need to get a wide band, but it is much more useful for tuning part throttle and throttle roll in. Not too long ago, I had it so that part throttle acceleration was awesome, but to get the best top end, I somehow lost it. I think a wideband will help me get it back. Foot to the floor tuning is pretty easy without it.
