Default Fender Flare Beading?

I'm interested in Fender Flares, but not without a proper mount of rubber beading. Unfortunately, I know jack about this.

Anyone have any suggestions, even if from another car? Is there any problem with using a Universal kit, or one from a VW?

If you do have them installed, what thickness did you find worked the best?

Any advice appreciated!

VW beading is really too thick. The exposed part is too large in diameter. You can get welt cord, or piping from upholstery shops that's just the right size.
