Excellent deal when you figure the cost of the wheels and RS3's. Great start on a track car.

Not sure if I believe that the smoking is due to the seafoam or not. Mine cleared up running in the driveway before I even got to drive the car. Regardless, still a good deal.

Yeah, I don't buy the seafoam excuse. A little checking could determine the root cause pretty quickly. I would hammer it as a negotiating point.

I would also hammer him about the lack of top or frame. "Unless you have a covered trailer and garage space you aren't a prospective buyer," I'd tell him. How many people looking at his ad have those things? I'd ask him if he knew what hardtops were going for these days and how much a top frame and top were going to cost if I didn't have a hardtop or covered trailer. I bet I could scare him down to $1500 or less.

looks like a decent deal. Even if the engine is a bit on the lacking side, if the frame is good and its not rusting in any major way, I think it would make a good project car. Although I am not sure how I feel about Bilstein HDs, just seems odd you would get the longer travel HD and add all those suspension travel bits.
