did they do a leak test for you. If they had to do an evac and add freon then there is a leak somewhere.
On the 96 system there is a junction for the lines to connect ,they are down on the driver side front between the Radiator and motor.
If they have been jammed or hit then they willl leak all of the freon out over a short period of time. The connections have rubber o=rings in them and these get pinched or roll when bumped
If you can find them a lot of Ford cars had a set of clips that held the lines together .
I understand they will fit the miata as well

Southern Californians understand the A/C problem, but we don't get the humidity out here. Usually if it's warm enough to need A/C I just drop the top and put on a hat. But if it's TOO warm for that A/C is a necessity.

well if you where low on freon then you have a leak..ac system dont use freon by design...i hope you remembered to put some die in the system to find the leak
