Default Question about comapatiblity of part of 1996 to 1991

Hey all, I'm new here. My 1991 N/A took a hit from a huge rotten Pecan tree limb. The car was still a daily driver a the time. What was really damaged was the passenger side nose cone and barn door head light. The light still comes on but won't flip up. I figure thats probably a minor problem.

My question is can the nose cone be repaired? Just by luck I came across a 96, that was recently wrecked. I'm sure the owner was devastated because, paint was immaculate on it and had some nice chrome rims. I could not open hood to see if the engine had be modded due to the accident bent both fenders. I could see a body brace bar behind driver seats, so, I expect one probably on the engine. Interior was very good. Will dash board from the 96 fit the 91.

Seats look like they've been reapholstered, look new carpet also. Everything inside was very nice, the odometer had 166K. I asked about the vehicle and said the owner had left it but wanted to sell it. He wanted $1000 for the car. What I'd probably do is have the body work do on my 91 first but pull the engine out of the 96, and have a complete overhaul. Car almost appears to have hit a rear end of a Pick Up or SUV, because it damaged the front end went under rear end of a truck but didn't push front end back enough to hurt engine butt windhshield was a goner. One other positive is the vinyl top looked brand, new and I need one for my 91.

Adding up just part, Top, chrome rimes, no damage, seats and other salvagable parts, it's worth more than a $1000 but unless he could find someone like me to part it out, the car is totalled. I'm thinking of starting offer at $700. My 91 has sat for a over a year but I did add the gas treatment
(Stabil) for engines that would be setting a long time. Help me out with opinions and idea. If I snooze I'll lose, but I live in a rural area, where this type of vehicle isn't in high demand. Thanks!
JT

Thanks for the help. I've had the 1991, since 1999 and really don't want to get ride of the car but I have trouble with my back, so I can't work on the car like I used to. If I take it easy hopefully, I'll have it done, if I can the other owner to come down on his price, as I said, there is way more tha, $1000 worth of parts on the wrecked car. Still must haggle the price with owner. The top alone looks almost brand new, rear vinyl window is perfectly clear. Just pop old frame off and put the new one on.
