Default swap AC unit

Has anyone tried putting 2000,01,02,03 AC compressor on a 95-97 miata
Parts stores show them as being the same
wrecking yards say they are different . May be something simple but not a direct fit
I have located a real low mileage 2000 that I can get AC comp off of pretty cheap. Just not sure what it would take to convert to the 96
Any ideas would be welcome

I would surely appreciate it .
I would hate to buy a new one and find out I do not have to modify it.
I would like to stay away from new as we rarely run the AC
and now with the cool scoop installed will probablu use even less

You live in Texas and rarely run the A/C? Is your blood a 50/50 Premix? :P

Several years ago I would have said yes .
When you are use to working in the heat all the time it is no big deal.
I will expand on this in the run your head section of the site lol

In the Summer, it's so hot, I'll get a mild sunburn, in 30 minuutes. I hate Texas' summers, Nights are great. Not too much crusing for chicks at 59 but if I end up moving to the south central mountains of New Mexico, once it cools down would be some nice cruising on the roads to Sierra Blanca and Cloudcroft, still have to be careful. I had a friend that had to be hospitalized from skiing on clear sunny day. The car would be covered up most of the winter.

Hey MyTWo I haven't had time to meet up with Schade and compare, he's a busy busy guy these days. I'm willing to ship my dryer/compressor to you if you want though.

I had it properly drained before removing. I have some training this week to attend. I'll pack it up and get it to the post by Friday for you.
