Default Updating my dash board guages

I have been seriously considering the updating of the guages in the instrument pod on my 97. Removing anything involving this pod really scares me but, if someone out there can tell not to be afraid then perhaps I will give it a try. All I want is to put some chrome rings around the guage faces (chrome) and perhaps, if I'm really really fearless a new guage face show it shows up better.
If there is a place I can go online to learn how to do this great! If some of you have done this then let me know how it went and what NOT to do. My Ebay Miata is a real fun project for this old fart and "customizing" it in little ways is fun most of the time. Thanks all for your anticpated interest.

The chrome rings come on the 90-93 Miatas stock. You could just swap that if you wanted. FYI - Mazda changed them because they reflected too much glare with the top down in direct sunlight, if that matters to you.

Thank you sixshooter for your sage advice. If they create too much reflection or glare, then I will not go that way. BTW, love your co-pilot photo!!!!

She's driving. I'm just studying her technique.
