Default Porting +01 Exhaust Header

Anybody ever do this. I cut off the heat shield bungs so I can wrap this and while doing so I started to look at the intake ports. They are pretty restrictive and the welds can be ground down to match the tubes at the least. Check out cylinder number 4 where the EGR tube is just thrown in there all fugly like. I think that can be blended in as well.

Any suggestions on what tools to use and whether it's even worth my time?

not particularly sure, I know there has been talk before on the MT thread about moving the welds to the outside of the tube. Is it worth your time? not sure really, if you are good at this type of thing, then maybe, but I find that my time>$150 for an ebay header.

I'll have to go search mt then. I see what you are saying though and I didn't think about it. Grinding down those welds may weaken it.

I wouldn't bother. You've already got decent gains compared to the cast job on the 99-00 and any gains will likely be minimal. Get a header if you want one.

Yeah , im stupid. I spoke to my cousin and showed him my header as well. I'd have to redo the welds if I really wanted to port it on the outside and it's not worth it. I plan to boost next winter. I was loosing focus on my end goal momentarily, I just get tired of point byes on the straights. At least I don't have to lift I guess.

Thanks for the advice guys.
