Default Replacement keyless entry fob???

I could use a replacement for the remote entry fob for my 2004 MSM. So far the replacements I have found on line go for upwards of $100. Anyone got a more reasonable suggestion?

I've looked in the past for keys, as well as the fob. the prices I've seen are close to the dealers prices!

I did notice in "Autozone" last week, plastic bubble packed fobs, many of which were packed in rotating wire rack. The rack label said to find the one closest to your car visually and that would work! I didn't check prices, but it might be worth looking in a "FLAPS". <smile>

Thanks CharlesE. CharlestonMX5 gave me a lead at ThePartsGroup. They have them for $35. I will check W/Autozone to see if they have an adequate replacement at a better price.

I bought my '05 w/only one key and had to go to a locksmith to get a 2nd matched to the car. $ 140. If you have the same system; that's only way I heard of. Good Luck

Thanks Helo-guy. Great name by the way.

I got one through ThePartsGroup. The local locksmiths don't handle the new chipped keys, so I would have to go through the dealer for an ignition key. There are some work-arounds that can be used for the ignition key, but they make it easier to steal the car.

What model Helo?

Default Ignition key

Not sure what model. I bought it used from someone who didn't know either. It has all the accessories available-6 spd, leather, bose, cruise, etc, for '05.

Normally, i consider locksmith to program keyless entry fobs but dealer can make these keys that can't cause any issues further in the future.

$140 is not a good deal at all after visiting a locksmith, according to me it must be $112 for the duplicate key.

It's not easy to steal the car and crack the ignition, you must enhance the security and take help from commercial locksmiths near to provide you the best security systems for your miata.
