Default nc from smd. where to 1G

I'm from southern Maryland and am on the quest for 1 g. I'm coming from a moded srt4and I'm disappointed with the way the miata handles,my srt would stomp this roadster in every test of speed. I am looking to change this. First will be a 50shot for sainity second will be the quest for one lateral g. Any tips or hint will be helpful and I will be posting my findings

You want 1g on a skidpad? Very easy:

205/50R15 hoosiers + any moderately to track sprung coilover.

Hell I am sure the hoosiers could do it without anything really.

You think too small Track. 225/45R15s RS3s or R1Rs. The SRT4 is a brutal quick car in a straight line and for FWD nimblish. However, ask my cousin at Mid Ohio how it rotates at speed compared to the miata. I took the turn fine, he took the Neon offloading.

BTW, Welcome to the forum!

haha those 205 hoosiers will put 1.4g on a spec miata!

but you are right, lots of miata tires will do it. I think a very light and properly sprung miata might get 1g on 205 street tires...maybe. It will be close!

I think I can do it on my 225s. I just need a skid pad.

Wait! Here we go, This guy posts well over 1g on 205/50R15s:
http://www.miataturbo.net/showthread.php?t=64779

1.25G on spec miata suspension and equivalent on a moderate 425/275.

I think this thread can be safely labeled as idiotic. I am not one to flame newbies too much on here, but this guy is comparing a ------- modified turbo econobox with a stock unknown-year miata.

EDIT: I must say I am delighted that this thread was not indicating a quest for 1000hp. Given the name of the user and the odd title, I was a little worried. lol

Now Now Now, a prepped SRT4 is very quick on the track. Let's not incite hate just yet. Here at MFz we love our fellow Forum member (except VetteHoles that don't wave by Miatas). He saw the light and bought a Miata. I can agree the stock NC needs some serious attention to the Suspension. I don't see too much wrong with his opening question.

Pay attention, fellas! Stripedneon has a NC, which comes with really hard and skinny 17 inch tires. He's not going to run 15's on it.

My Miata didn't corner or go well in a straight line stock either. Get a turbo, better springs and shocks, and some wider stickier rubber. Begi makes some turbo parts for that thing and Flyin Miata might, too. Look up Playboy Cup and see what those guys are running for sway bars and suspensions. That is a NC racing class.

A fifty shot? Only if you are using it to spool up a big turbo earlier. Fifty isn't enough to do anything. Completely not worth it.

And comparing a modded car to a stock one is silly. A properly modded Miata will walk away from that economy sedan on any track with curves, just not an improperly modded one or a stock one.

yea yea, maybe some of my MS3 roots were lashing out here.

Carry on and ignore my dick behavior.

I also did not notice he was asking about an NC. In which case, it will be easier to get 1g on that anyway. They actually make 255 street tires for the NC and you can pretty much strip an NC down to NA like weight. Take notes:

Just need to acid dip the chassis
