New to forum,not Miatas!
Hey all,
Just got in (and boy are my fingers tired) sorry....
I have been into Miatas about 6 years now, since I bought my silver 90 and planned on putting the 425hp 5.0 I had in it. Just as I was ordering the Martin's kit, my nephew suggested that I sell the heavy Ford and go with one of the "New" LS-1 kits. He even offered to lend me his LS and 6 speed.
I sold the 5.0 and found a sweet deal on a 99 LS/6speed/Painless harnessand a lot more for $2500. The car is nearly together and I plan to finish it for Memorial Day weekend at Lime Rock Race Park.
I used a Boss Frog kit but modified the mount to take a Cobra 8.8 rear. Ric was impressed enough that he started to make that an option based on my mods.
All I have left to do is reflash the ECM, make an exhaust, and run fuel lines. Then once it is all sorted out its time for bodywork and paint.
In the mean time, I have picked up/rehabbed/sold 7 Miata's in the last 14 months. I sell a car and then buy another putting any profits into the V-8.
I am also the Membership Chair of the Nutmeg Miata Club. We have get togethers, poker runs, spring and fall runs, a huge Toys-for-Tots drive every year, and 3 to 4 formal tech sessions a year where I usually end up changing a top for a member. Then there are the improptu nights in my garage where we have swapped shocks/springs, tops, engines, t-belt, whatever is needed. We stay busy!
