whats up guys i just figure i check in, im a honda enthusiast that bought a miata just a few days ago and fell in love, it was the first miata i had ever sat in, let alone drive, i bought it bone stock from the second owner, plans are to get a newer 6spd tranny, a stronger diff, and building a 1.8 for boost, and drift the hell out of it,, hahaha right now im planning on ordering suspension, roll cage, and steering wheel so i can start going to local drift meets though.... ill keep you guys posted with a build thread..... happy to be here

welcome to mfz, you can boost the 1.6 , and get it fairly healthy. that being said the 1.8 is much better. you dont really need a full roll cage, look at roll bars not style bars.
