Welcome to the forum!

My top used to need some help opening and closing because of the glass back window. The material would hang up on one of the metal bows a little. It wasn't too big a deal because it only gets opened or closed once or twice a day. But now I have a fixed hardtop.

Welcome! A temporary fix for tears is to use a little GOOP Adhesive and an iron-on patch (that you'd fix clothes with. You use the iron-on patch, because the iron-on stuff on it is rubbery. Apply a little adhesive to the underside of the top wear the tear is, and apply some adhesive to the rubbery part of the iron-on patch. Apply and let dry. Should at least help temporarily, and keep the tear from getting worse.
