Default New here, but on my 9th Miata

Hi my name is Chris and I'm a miata addict... er wait... wrong place?

But seriously.. my record is owning 3 miata's at once (all 3 of them 1990 model year)... 1 was a spec miata, 1 was a daily driver and 1 was a garage queen low mileage 31k time capsule).... but then I lost my job and sold 2 of them (kept the spec miata)... later I sold even the spec miata and went through withdrawal symptoms being without any Miata for a week so I bought another spec miata and own a 1995 spec miata now (haha).

Very nice! Do you ever go down south to run or stay close to home?

I want to run Road Atlanta at some point (on my bucket list) but it's not on the recent plans list.

Tracks I frequent include Road America, Autobahn, Putnam, Grattan, MidOhio, Gingerman, Blackhawk, Gateway, Milwaukee Mile and sometimes also Nelsen Ledges, MAM, Brainerd and Waterford Hills. I was also at Roebling Road once but probably won't go back.

We try 1 new track a year so eventually I'll head to Road Atlanta as well ..this year, however, that new track is Heartland Topeka

Welcome Chris, I see you on the other local Chicago sites as well. I've never done anything except NASA HDPEs, and it looks like you are an SCCA lady so I doubt we have met at the track.

Do you ever go do test and tunes at Gingerman? Do you have a good place to store your Miata? I'm getting tired of having 4 cars in the driveway and need a place to store the miata if I'm going to keep it.

Hi. I stopped doing Gingerman test n tunes many years ago. Gingerman is such a PITA for me to get to now living in Mt. Prospect. (can take 3 to 4 hours in heavy friday traffic)

BUT I run only NASA Spec Miata, PTE or Time Trials now with this Miata (it has NASA Stickers and logbook now) and I we will be at Autobahn for the NASA Opening event. Will you be there?

For storage, we have a great place for winter from November through April (climate controlled, safe and secure with no critters) for only $45 a month out in Rockford, IL. (they have plenty of space available too if you wanted in on the deal this upcoming season) ..but in summer it is in our garage while the daily driver sits outside.

I'm doing Roebling for the first time this coming weekend. I'm not expecting to be thrilled, but want to add it to the "I've been there" list. Road Atlanta has some serious thrills and perils. My buddy totalled and rolled his car coming through turn 12 onto the front straight there.

I enjoy the complexity of Sebring's 17 turns and the sheer speed and danger of Homestead Miami's high banks when running the Grand Am configuration.
