yea, I called Bilstein. The lady said it sounds like a Bad seal, I asked if I could get it warrantied through them as I live about 20 minutes away from their Morrisville location. But she as like, nahh send it back to tire rack and they will get it to us. :/

Trying to get a little help with my setup. I've got revalved bilsteins for the NA with NB tophats. I'm trying to figure out which perches/sleeves to order. Will NB sleeves work on NA shocks, what is the difference? I've looked at threads at MT.net, miata.net,a nd this thread. I feel confident that the ebay sleeves with good springs is a nice option. I'm unsure about what is going to fit. My bilsteins should have a 2" OD. With FM sways I'm thinking about a 450/250 setup. Currently I have put the tire in the wire harness under the LF wheel well.

Here is an NB setup http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Gravitat...ht_1348wt_1396

What did you end up going with?

tbh, I wouldn't bother with the egay sleeves. sure they are really cheap, but with the amount of modification you have to do, its not worth it. Plus, with my experience with the allstar sleeves, you can just SKIP on the "kit" and buy the individual pieces for (no need for the spacer up top).

Sleeve:
$16

Perch:
$14

If you are sneaky, you can look for a 2" threaded shaft collar with a better method of locking in ride height as the set screw they use tends to mess up the sleeve threads.

Your second option is to use the Koni sleeves for 2" shock body (rather than 1.75" shock body like the konis are). Its the 30.0000.00005/6

Or mix and match.

I am a little hesitant to put a rubber bike sleeve on the shock body after reading about shocks and heat dissipation, but it could just be bogus as not many people complain about ebay sleeves once they are installed.

NA and NB Bilsteins are the same body diameter so the sleeves are interchangeable. I acquired Ground Control sleeves used for $60 for 4. If I had a little more experience at the time I might have bought the ebay Miata kit and had springs too for the same $60. With all of the success people have had with them it is hard to ignore as a viable option. There is some risk with spring lengths and height adjustments being different between vendors but most setups have been workable.

The one you have linked looks as good as any of them. You can always keep the adjusters and buy different rate or length springs if they don't meet your needs.

Do you know the formula for determining spring rates of a given set by measuring them with a micrometer? I should post that when I get home.

I have a spare NA Bilstein in the garage that you can borrow, just pay for shipping and send me an address to my email. I cannot check this forum at work.
