Default Need advice on wheels

I have a 1990 miata I drive around Chicago. It has stock wheels and tires on it now, but I'm dying to get some new wheels and tires.
I don't want to go bigger than 15In. because of the roads here, but should I get 7 or 8 inch ? Will 8 inch fit?
What is stock ? 6 inch?
Thanks, Steve

i think 15x8 will fit depending on offset, i would go 15x7 or 15x7.5, check out 949 racings 6ul's.

Stock wheels are 14x5 or 14x5.5, iirc. 15x8 will fit with a higher offset number than +30 otherwise rolling and maybe pulling the fenders might be necessary.

edit: +20 requires a little roll.

Advanti wheels has a beautiful line that are compatible for our miata's. Been browsing 4wheelonline and hope to get from them for a good price.
