Been doing a ton of research and have a good parts list for once the engine and trands go back in. I just have one question. I was thinking about getting the greddy kit and then upgrading to a bigger turbo later on just so I dont go from 100hp to 210hp. how much power will the greddy kit put down on say 8 PSI? I have read 160hp but also read 200? Thanks!

Greddys are not that great, i think im ball parking it at around 220hp @14psi.
this is the only virtual dyno chart i can find of my car. hit overboost at 10psi about half pull and still made 160 before peak power. was estimated at around 190hp and made 189hp on the next pull. but this kinda shows how the greddys power comes on.

i will try to make another pull when i get the timing belt water pump back on and the car running right again.

Not the great power wise or quality wise? I am mostly concerned with getting a good kit to start out with that I can later upgrade the turbo.

Most of the Greddy kit is junk. The turbo is small and old design and the manifolds are known to crack. Those are the best two parts of the kit. Just get a Chinese 2554 or 2560 copy off of ebay for dirt cheap and move on.

Sounds good! how do you guys feel about ebay intercoolers and downpipes? I know for subarus that are actually pretty good, was wondering if that transferred over here hhaa

the intercoolers are decent (depending on brand obviously) never had any experience with down pipes though. and the greddys not all bad, its reliable and still makes these cars fun to drive. but if i were to build another one i would go with something different.

Best bet for a downpipe is to buy a flange of some sort and get a local shop to fab the downpipe and tie into whatever exhaust you are running. I recommend 3 inch for low backpressure and Magnaflow for deep, mellow tones without rasp. If you are fortunate enough to get a turbo with a v-band outlet or adapter for a v-band outlet you will find life much easier. Please do not forget to add a flex joint to your exhaust system or your *everything* will crack.

Not much progress made so far. Cleaned up the interior, degreased the engine a bit, and been doing my research and saving for the motor. The more I look into it and after geting a ride in a gt28r miata I def want to go with that turbo for the move power lol. So I just need to figure out where I can get one (I'd rather a real one since I have read the china ones are junk) also I am looking to go EWG. So once the motor goes in I'll start my search for the turbo parts, better rear diff, and hardtop.
