Hey, I'm on board with you on that Brainy, even if you didn't quite mean it how I am taking it. Although, truth be told, I have less of a problem with that then the bailouts.

Then you, sir, should be a Fair Tax champion! It is the only proposal I am familiar with that allows you to choose how much tax you are willing to pay. There is no tax levied on your earnings or your savings for retirement! If, like me, you never choose to buy new cars, are comfortable in vintage clothing, buy used turbo parts, buy refinished furniture in the house, buy refurbished ipods and computer components, and save your money where you can, you can almost write Uncle Sam's ass out of your life. Power to the people! I'm not interested in being trendy in what I drive and what I wear. But I am interested in having a retirement nest egg well into seven figures and nearly eight figures if I can. The quicker I can get my senator's thieving hands out of my pockets, the better. I desperately want to put Sam on an austerity program that matches my own.

I think everyone should have that choice.

Meh, one could assume the outcome would be what you point to in history however life is different. I don't think we need any government, anywhere, at all...

If you all thought like me it would work.

but that's the problem, they don't, and they have bigger guns/army than you.

An idea whose time has come

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.

Many citizens have no idea that members of Congress can retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws.

The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

This is one proposal that really should be passed around:

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to all the citizens of the United States."

Now, what are we going to do about it? Read and forget or work for reform? Send it to EVERY Congressman, Representative, Governor, the White House!!!!! Pass it around!!! Make calls, send fax's!

The House adpated the Senate's Insider Trading Bill, so that's a step...
