Strange Piece on Transmission Output
Hoping one of you here can help me out or point me in the right direction.
I'm changing the transmission output seal on my 1996 Miata. I've taken the driveshaft and the old output seal out, however, there seems to be a cylindrical piece stuck on to the output shaft. The piece makes it impossible to slip on the new seal.
I've watched lots of videos of driveshaft removals and no one seems to have what I have. I've attached some photos below.

Any idea what it could be?

Looks like its the driveshaft bushing. I can't find the part on the catalog. Also, it's stuck in there really tight. Any ideas on how to remove it?
