what em
Hello everyone, just recently me and my brothers got a project car, a 1999 miata. I am completely new to mazda but not to car modding and tuning. I will be making a custom turbo kit or purchasing one that is already complete and will build the engine as needed to support boost. My other car is a wrx and I have built and tuned it myself, i don't think you can use the stock ecu for tuning on the miata like I can on my wrx so my question what engine management system is on the cheaper side that I can use for tuning? I wanna be able to control open loop fueling based on load and rpm, closed loop fueling but can go without it(mainly need it for running afr that is different than 14.7:1), Timing based on load and rpm, maf tuning or speed density, 3 port boost control solenoid, idle rpm, lc, ffs, and antilag but can go without them. I would prefer a plug and play unit but if its cheaper I can assemble solder etc... Thanks in advance guys.

megasquirt is what a good portion of the modded miata world are running, Including myself. you can build your own to your liking and then tune it yourself on your computer in your free time. heres a thread on how to build and install it.

yeah after more reading i am leaning towards ms, how much did it cost you to build it? Will that same kit work for an obd2?
