I guess it's the old battle: Build a high strung NA motor for $5K and 160 WHP or a complete turbo kit for $5K and have 250WHP.

I get it - the idea of the all-motor motor. If it was a Honda that you can get 200+ on a NA motor, you bet I'd be interested. Our motors just don't return the power for the dollars invested NA.

Damn the logic. Some of us don't want or can't have FI for our chosen competition classes. Doesn't mean we need to be told how stupid it is to build an all motor motor.

Hell anybody with $1000 can get a blow job.

Logic is a bitch. Most of us just want cheap horsepower, the most bang for the buck. I sympathize with those who through rules or by choice need to make power with a naturally aspirated B6 or BP. That isn't an easy or cheap road to take. I've got a buddy down here who is trying to go fast in a Miata with dual sidedraft carburetors and it is a struggle.

Wow.

You pay too much for your horsepower AND your sex. I've got business acquaintances that get it done for around $100. I guess it pays to shop around.

Luckily I get my sex for ALMOST free. I gotta be nice and take her out to dinner lol.

But for for an all motor setup with stock internals, I think 150 is reaching the limit without switching stuff around. MSM cam not included

I get paid for sex.
My but dyno notice a jump in power between using the 01 bottom.
I really need to dyno my car if I'm lucky I hope to make 150.

the 01 bottom end over the 99? Thats surprising, I wonder what is different between them other than the thrust bearing? I was lead to believe that the difference is in the head with the VVT and some cooling port changes for improved cooling at the rear (with a sacrifice at the front cylinder).

I still think the mazdaspeed engine has a serious cooling advantage over any other combination of head+bottom end.
