Is anyone else having problems staying logged in?

Whenever I log in, I check the "remember me" box, but every couple of days it seems like I have to log in again. I don't seem to have this problem with any other forums. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

olderguy 12-17-2011 11:16 AM

:rolleyes:Everything has been screwed up since Brain bought the site:rolleyes:

MF-Brain 12-17-2011 11:35 AM

I didn't buy it, I allowed Rick to give it to me.

RedTurboMiata 12-17-2011 11:37 AM

what sites did you "acquire"? jw

FRT_Fun 12-17-2011 04:04 PM

Have not had this issue. Been logged in automatically for a while now.

Is you're browser set to wipe it's cash every few days?

jnshk 12-19-2011 10:08 PM

Cache is not set to wipe at any given interval, but it is limited to 50MB. Which I could potentially be hitting very frequently. The odd thing is that this does not happen with any other forum (MiataTurbo, Miata.net, ClubRoadster, and many non-Miata forums).

Clear cookies and cache... send all cash to me.
Make sure you are using the www.
Click the box to stay logged in.
Stop using Ie5 :)

My work computer with the wireless card is always logged in but the home computer requires it every time. Sucks.

Just cleared cookies and cache.
What is this cash thing you speak of? I never seem to have any?

Haven't used IE in almost a decade. (I've been a Mozilla-fan since Netscape 3. I do currently need to update my browser version though, but I'm procrastinating for a few reasons.)

I'm hoping that it was just a malformed cookie or something in the cache causing problems. I don't seem to have this issue with any other website, so hopefully clearing the cookies and cache will resolve the issue. I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

It did not work. Still having to log in every time I restart the browser. :(

olderguy 12-22-2011 06:41 AM

Not the issue. As stated before, this is the ONLY forum that logs me out.

FRT_Fun 12-22-2011 06:28 PM

I'm on Mozilla and do not have this issue. Did you click the "remember me" button (I'm sure you did... but figured I'd ask.)

Every single time. :)

I think that for now I'm just not going to worry about it. No one else seems to be having this problem, so hopefully it's just an odd quirk of my current Firefox install. If it still continues after I've had a chance to update Firefox then I will revisit this thread.

You can try to run mozilla in safe mode, and then reset all your settings back to default. Not sure if thats a problem to you, but if it is settings based, this should fix it.

Do note, there are 3rd party programs that can interfere with this stuff, like software to stop kids from visiting bad sites.

As stated, I am also having this problem.

MF-Rick 12-27-2011 10:50 AM

Strange. If its only happening at work then I would say its possibly a security setting on the browser there... if its happening everywhere you go, home, work, school, cell etc then I would say its the forum. The issue I have is that its 2 people reporting it out of thousands that sign on a day. This forum is setup no different than MT.

This is good to hear. MT works perfectly for me (although for a while I had issues with it as well), so I'm guessing that there's just something screwy with my browser. Hopefully things will get resolved when I reinstall the OS (unrelated to this issue) and browser.
