hello

my wife and i just became the proud owners of a miata MX-5 (our first) with a retractable hard top. iv been looking for a luggage rack. most say "this rack does not work with retractable hard top". does anyone know of a rack that does work with a RHT?

The position that the hard top cover moves to when raising and lowering the HT pretty much precludes anything attached to the trunk lid. Maybe look at the soft luggage that fits every nook and cranny in the trunk.

the only other way might be to just remove the rack when i want to raise or lower the HT. not sure how much is involved with installing or taking down the rack. might be more trouble than its worth.
ill look into storage bags.

The little motor that lifts the trunk lid for top stowage might not like the added weight of luggage on it when trying to lift either. That may be one of the design considerations that cause them to add the disclaimer.
