the c shaped retaining clip on the mirror post cracked and mirror now will not stay in place. Can this clip be gotten anywhere or how would I go about fashioning a new one? I've been to the stealership and they only want to sell a new mirror assembly. Too much money when I only need the clip. Any leads from the gurus is appreciated. thanks, Skip

 

if you can find the broke one, go to a hardware store they have a large assortment of retainer clips.

 

If not the hardware store, a fastener store (nuts and bolts vendor) will likely have an assortment.
