Regarding Turbo for my 93's

OK so the timing is adjusted and these little go carts fly... I have bought new oil changes, racing clutch, pcv valves, fuel filters, all NEW vacuum lines replaced, belts, air filters, and Cleaned both IAC solenoids..
All work done by me... (so i know these motors pretty well now..)

May I ask, Where did you purchase your TURBO and what is the best one for my 93 motor...?

Are they intercooled? because once the bearing goes out, the turbo is shot.

Anyone? -- preferably Mr. TURBO RED?
Thanks so much, from Marina Del Rey, Calif

my car had the turbo setup half assembled when i got it, i went through and re did everything the p/o did the correct way. the turbo setup has been on my car for something like 30k miles and still feels the way it did when i got it, and i drove the car very hard. from what i have read there California is a pain to deal with when you have a modded car, so you will have to account for that, but check out flyin miata, and bell engineering for turbo kits. also remember you have to upgrade fuel and timing management because the stock computer doesn't handle upgrades.

You will need a standalone ecu to properly control fuel and spark if you plan to add a turbo. This must be done first. Megasquirt is the most common in the Miata world. A fellow named Dimitri (who goes by Reverent on the forums) custom configures them for your car for very good prices. They come with a base map installed to get you running. It just needs to be fine tuned after that.

Sourcing a turbo is the easy part. They are cheap and plentiful. I, like many before me, am using an inexpensive Chinese turbo from an ebay vendor with great success. Picking the correct size for your needs and desires is the part that you will want help with. What do you plan to do with the car? DD? Track? Autocross? City? Highway/open road?

Here's a link to Reverent's info thread on his latest MegaSquirts for sale.
