Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have inherited a 2001 miata from my brother and it has some issues. He was having issues with it starting and not starting. Its been in 2 garages and they cannot find the cause and keep telling me it's a money pit and sell it for parts. I suspect it could have something to do with the backup camera? They got a code that has to do with security and the trunk will not open. There is also a strong smell of gasoline inside the car. Any advice or help appreciated. I love the car and would love to fix and keep it if possible.
