What has your car been mistaken for?
 

I guy came up to me the other day and said "Do you own that triumph over there?"... has something like this happened to any of youse?

No other makes of car, though.

some one asked me if it was the new rx-7....
i couldent say anything for a second, then then told him that sadly they have discontinued that car.

i took that as a complament though, kinda pissed me off when a gas station worker asked me what kind of HONDA it was... (face palm)

Back when I had my Jensen Healey, people sometimes thought it was a Triumph. The Miata bears no resemblance to any Triumph I know of. Or any other car come to think of it.

A rotary.
Not mistaken for any other model but the attendant at self servicr garage I changed oil at asked me there was anything special or different I had to do to change oil on a rotary.

I got the front wheel drive question after only 3 days of owning it. lol But nothing else yet. I'm more used to people thinking that my Honda VTX 1800 is a Harley. I actually feel a little insulted when asked that one. My X is way better than any HD. lol

Personally I didn't see it but...
 

My wife's daughter, all of 22 years old, in describing my car told her girlfriend that it looked like a corvette. Personally I don't know any year corvette that looks remotely like a 2007 Grand Touring Miata, but there it is.
