whats the value of my '99

My '99 5 speed manual is not currently running. It needs an EGR value and the radiator has a hole in it which has gotten to the point it to needs replaced. Between the 2, im looking at $500 in parts. It's got 178,000 miles, soft top is torn at window. it has the glass window. Other than it seperating at the window seam, the top looks great, no tears or fading. it could most likely be sewn. It has aluminum wheels, new tires, nothing else special. manual windows and locks. Im wonderong what i can get for it as it sits. Im currently out of work and i dont have the room to store it. I cant afford to fix it. I love the car and i dont wanna give it away but if i could get $1000 or $1500 as is, id do it. I just dont see anyone buying a non running vehicle for anything more tham a few hundred dollars. I wont sell it for less than $700. Someone please share your input. thankyou

A little late, but very rarely does the EGR valve need to be completely replaced. Usually 2 cans of carb cleaner will take care of it, the egr valve comes off with two 10mm bolts on the back. Spray the heck out of it. It also separates in the middle with a few Phillips head screws. Spray the heck out of it.

the intake manifold has a very small egr hole. Take pics to document. Remove all vacuum hoses. Disconnect the 4 bolts for the throttle body. Remove the 6 bolts that hold the top of the manifold. Look down the throat, you’ll see a 2-3mm hole coked wth carbon. Spray the heck out of it.

As for the radiator, no need to buy a fancy one. A general $100-120 will work. Overall, I think most people try to buy “rollers” for about $700. I very much understand when it’s hard to have funds for the car. If you’re sure those are the only things stopping it from running, putting in the new radiator and $20 in carb cleaner can help keep its value.

A very small amount of sandpaper can help clean up those headlights too. You don’t really need a kit. Vey best f luck to you.
