Racing springs and sleeves

Maybe someone has some laying around?
looking for 2.5 by 7 maybe 6. rates between 250 and 400.
Ebay sleeves too!

Track 09-13-2011 04:53 PM

6" will be too short for 250 or even 400. you need be running 550+ for something that short.

I don't have any extras, but you can buy springs from trackspeed engineering, summit racing, and this site:
http://www.eshocks.com/hyp_make.asp

As for the sleeves, yea you will probably have to ebay that. I don't know anyone who makes sleeves for us other than the ground control kit and that comes with springs already. (which might not be a bad alternative)

I mean the ground control sleeves aren't that nice. Some of the Ebay kits come with two locking rings. The springs are 2.5 by 7 Eibach springs. Why don't I just use 400 or 350 and 250 QA1 racing springs they should be. How can springs be different?

How much you trying to pay for sleeves?

I just think at 250 and 6" spring you would be too short and getting on the bumpstops. try it though and let me know!

Let me check my garage. I know I have a few sleeves, but they may have been trimmed to fit the Illuminas. I also have some springs, see below. They're yours for the cost of shipping, if you're interested. Also, I can snap pictures if I can locate them in the garage. Springs are just over what's the recommended maximum for the Illuminas, and too tall for them as well.

Wire diameter: .485 in.
Coil Diameter (center to center): 2.995 in.
Number of coils (free/active): 6.5 / 4.5
Spring length: 7.3 in.
Calculated spring rate: 465 lb/in

I don't think these the right diameter. Do you think they will fit bilstiens? also 465 is a lot. But regardless thank you.

i have 7" 420lb 2.5ID ksport springs i took off coilovers a few months ago that ill sell cheap.

XJ220sc 09-20-2011 10:05 PM

I ended up going with 2.5 by 7 400/275

XJ220sc 10-03-2011 02:14 PM

I think I should have gone with 6" springs. With the springs cranked all the way down I'm having trouble getting under 13" but to get any lower I need some ISC top hats as well.

I'm at about stock height (just by looking at it) in front with 8" 450lb (8k) springs all the way down. Are your coil adjusters flat on the Bilstein clip or do you have them on top of the factory perch? I'm also using NB tophats which take me about 1/2 to 3/4 inch lower than the NA ones, but you are already on NB tophats.

Track 10-31-2011 08:07 AM

also, did you make sure to put the car down before tightening everything?

sixshooter 10-31-2011 10:00 AM

Mine settled 1/2 inch after driving over some railroad tracks on some back roads.
