noob question- she cranks but wont start

I have been running my diypnp for a couple of years now and am at the point to where I am know for some wicked tunes. My car is modified to the point to where the stock ecu will no longer run the car.

Okay so the problem- I had to rebuild my engine, when I hook up the computer tuner studio says everything is synced. But the girl just wont start, on cranking she gets a little sputter but that is all. Now for the life of me I remember something about telling mega-squirt where tdc is but can't remember how or find info.

Do you have the crank angle sensor hooked up? It should be next to the crank pulley and it will monitor the four toothed wheel behind the crankshaft pulley. if there is too much or too little gap between the sensor and the wheel it won't work properly. Replacement oil pumps don't always have the notch to guide the distance of the sensor from the wheel, which is why I brought it up.

To set the CAS timing for spark you go into the Spark tab in TS, spark settings, then find "fixed angle" which should read -10. Change "-10" to "10" and then you should be able to use a timing light while cranking to determine if you need to advance or retard your timing by rotating the CAS to get it to line up with the pointer on the timing belt cover. Line it up perfectly and then tighten down the CAS and check it again. When it is spot on, change the setting in TS back to -10 to tell MS to use the timing map again.

Good luck.
