'01 Miata for MegaSquirt

I'm currently setting up an '01 Miata engine for use by a recently completed MegaSquirt III with a 3X Expander. My question is a basic one unique to the Miata engine. This engine has what appears to be one ignition coil for two cylinders, one connected to cylinders 1 and 4 and one coil for 2 and 3. I'm assuming these are what's called "wasted spark" coils and as such can be connected directly to the 3X card.

If this is correct then Spark A should be connected to the cylinder 1 and 4 coil and Spark B should be connected to the cylinder 2,3 coil.

Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks in advance,
Roy

Where to Find?

Thanks Brain for the confirmation -

Where would I find Y8s' discussion of VVT?

Roy

maybe over at msextra.com and over at miataturbo.net

basically the vvt driver on teh ms3x needs a slight mod for the flyback or it overheats. Otherwise, I can help you with any other ms3 questions
