Air Conditioning 94 M

Ok.. heres the deal.. my 94 m edition. has hook ups for 134a..
I wasnt happy with the way it cooled.. soooo.. i removed the refrigerant and then vacumed down the system.. recharged it..

NOW.. its worse.. according to the manuals, (chilton and haynes) the 94 years were R12 rrefrigerant.. how ever mine had hook ups for 134a hoses so i went with 134a..

does anyone have a 94 and the ability to identify the refrigerant type..

and no.. i have no label tag or sticker anywhere to identify the type..

per manuals 134 wasnt available till 95, BUT i have never charged a automotive system with R12 when its had 134a gauge ports

If somebody changed the components at some point, they probably converted it and changed the fittings. The oils are incompatible with each other I believe.

The amount you put in is really critical. if you just dumped it in and did not weigh it in then that may be your problem
I agree the R-12 may cool a little quicker or better ,but the 134 will do a good job
One thing I have heard with 134 conversion is using an electric fan that runs all the time. This pulls air across the condenser and keeps it cooler .Not sure if that is accurate
I just had mine done and the guy weighed it ,Mine does a really decent job of cooling
