Since installing the turbo, heat management and protection has been a major focus. I have discovered and made use of a couple of useful products I wish to share with you. Harbor Freight has large rolls of two inch wide aluminum foil tape with adhesive backing that sticks well to cleaned surfaces. It does a great job of both reflecting radiant heat and neatly sealing seams and gaps. It makes a decent hose and brake line wrap.

The other product is similar in design but on a grander scale. Frost King makes a heavier aluminum foil product that is backed with a thin layer of insulatory foam and surface adhesive. It comes in 12" wide rolls 15 feet long and is about 1/16th inch thick. It is sold at Home Depot and Lowe's iirc. I used it to insulate larger areas of my firewall and transmission tunnel against the heat of my downpipe and exhaust. Cut it to fit, clean the area of oils and dirt with brake clean, and apply. I understand it also works well as a sound deadening material behind door panels and under package shelf carpet if you are into that sort of thing.
