eBay JDM engines
 

Hi again. Since my last post about potentially removing the MegaSquirt computer from my Miata (which I’ve decided against) my engine went kaput. I believe the head gasket is blown and I’m sure the keyway on the crank nose is broken as the pulley now turn ovals rather than circles. I have decided to just invest in a new (used) engine. In my search have come across MULTITUDES of JDM engines with transmission on eBay. I would like to enlist the assistance of the Miata community as to whether or not buying one of these eBay Specials is worth it or not. I am able to source a 1.6l through my work. But I will be looking at a price tag of $1100 there which could potentially get me an engine and transmission from eBay. Advice, as always, is greatly appreciated.
I did neglect to mention earlier the info on my car, is a 1991, stock other than the MegaSquirt.
