I wwas going to link to the very basic BEGi shanghai kit, but the site appears to be down. that's as intro-base of a kit you can get. would surely meet your goals and set you up for further improvements as you learn.

I think that these are more like wot im interested in..I love running the the gears all the way to 50mph. but then its like huh wot happened till u hit 60,

this was about 4 weeks after i bought the car, still had the tiny 1.6 injectors, had an msd timing box for engine management, i had to go through and fix just about everything the PO did, but it was still fun, 5psi ish run. maybe 150hp at the time.

you could get the s4 starter kit, which is basically manifold,turbo, downpipe. and piece the rest together, you would have to pick up intercooler, megasquirt, injectors, make your own coolant and oil lines. but for that price you could probably get it done for under 3k if you shop right.
