On the earlier NA's there is a flapper near the bottom inside the drain tube that causes them to clog easier. I recommend cutting the tab on the outside and pulling the flapper out.

Also, the manual antenna is good for starting the tube cleanout, followed by water dumped in the scuppers. Be careful not to push the tube off of its' connection to the scupper. It is a bitch to get back on.:eek:

it looks like there is a flapper on the 2001 NB as well... it's midway up the tube in a big plastic housing and wrapped with tape.

Alright, So I tried everything here, and I have a conclusion. Firstly, Mother of god, I think cthulu came out of my drain tubes on the sides. The pass rocker panel was full of water, draining as I type.

Six, I pulled the carpet off the back of the rain rail, dry as a whistle, but it leaks like nothing else when there is water on the soft top. That has to be my main issue.

Y8s, I wasnt sure where the scuppers drained into the drain tubes from the top, but shoving a coathanger through the bottom seemed to work rather nicely

Older rain rails were very brittle. There are newer ones made completely of rubber without the brittle plastic area that can crack and leak like a sieve.

Is it more that the rain rail is broken? Or is it that we did not put it in properly when we replaced my soft top a few months ago? Like, Do I need a new one, or to just reseat it properly?

Don't know if you put it in correctly or not.

The top needs to be sandwiched between the two sides of the rain rail so that the water would drop into the "tube" at the bottom. It is possible to tighten the whole assembly too much so the water cannot get through the pinched area to the "tube"

But, again, the plastic section above the tube cracks easily on older rain rails.

If you haven't had a new rain rail installed in your '93 you are overdue. If you didn't buy one when you did your top you should have (just ask me). Even if you find upon disassembly that the rain rail was assembled incorrectly it would be incomprehensible to me not to buy a newer style one and install it once you have opened it up for inspection. The improved Robbins rain rail is so much better in design and construction that you will never need to worry about it again.

I am not sure where all the drains are at so for what it is worth if you are getting water in then there is a problem
Neither of ours get water in the trunk or in the car as long as we do not leave the top down .
Have never seen condensation in the trunk of either car and only on the windshield and windows again only with top down
Maybe the seals are worn or something has torn one a little or it has came loose allowing water to run under them
I can understand plugged drains and maybe we are lucky that ours is not plugged up
