Radiator Drain Plug
My plastic drain plug snapped in two. Jeez....believe it or not but all the local part stores in my area don't carry this. Does anyone know the size?
10mm ? It seems everyone is saying that the "standard" for most cars is 14mm, which of course everyone has. It's a pain :( |
heres what you need correct?

advance auto sells the plug you need, it's in the rad/cooling section just find the correct size, cant remember what it is off hand.
they are metal with a rubber o-ring: https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1332963618 come in various common sizes. |
Mine was plastic. Metal is okay? The one you pictured here looks like the one for my oil pan. This works for radiator too?

Try taking a Dremel/Rotary tool and grinding a new slot. Then take a much larger flathead, or even a quarter to unscrew it. If you accidentally hit the collar of the radiator spout, it’s not really a problem. It doesn’t seal there anyways.
