well today I did a idle adjustment and tried the drive cycle again and still have the not ready monitors. Then about 12 miles from home I looke dover and the temp gage was moving toward hot. So stopped and let it cool down which took forever in this texas heat.
Got home raised the hood and saw the coolant spewing out of the front top of tank. As the saying oes if it is green or brown colored then get a new radiator ,it is borrowed time if you do not replace it Read an interesting article wish I could find it but it was talking about using the orange coolant and the water wetter type procducts. According to the article they react with each other and do more harm than good Posted this here but will post some where else as well http://www.birdsradiator.com/electrolysis.nxg |
well I finally got rid of my three not ready monitors. Not sure which solved the problem .I reset the idle replaced the radiator and A/C fan,and within 150 feet they went ready

Turotufas, with the raised steering wheel mod can you still use the covers that cover the control column? Does it mean the column cover raises 1.5" up in front of the gauge cluster?
You can still use the cover and it doesn't raise it. But mine isn't level anymore. Just barely. :sad2: |
Replaced my clutch master cylinder.

Nice one man, very well made!
On the opposite end of the scale I'm about to ghetto fix a switch with a coathanger so the aircon works until I find a proper thingy to crimp the wire in to the connector. :bang: |

Well we finally got some rain this weekend and the temperatures came down enough for me to get into the garage. Did a couple ankle biters and got around to installing my NRG stainless steel radiator diversion panel.
This was actually designed for an NB, but I have an inexpensive aftermarket radiator so the diversion panels designed for the NA don't work for me anyway. I knew I would be modifying the panel in either case to make it work so I found one I liked on eBay. Using a hole saw, I cut access for the radiator cap and folded about an inch of material underneath the passenger side. I also had to drill a couple of holes into the radiator support to bolt the panel down. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1316361654 It's a little bright - I might have to paint it the same color as the valve cover and manifold. I do like the fitment and overall look though. When I do that, I'll be adding in seals to try to make the radiator airflow more efficient. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1316361654 |

Made my new hot side intercooler piping. Couldn't have been easier. I was trying to my best to avoid using 2" pipe , but it just worked out much better this way. So less than a foot of 2" and the rest is back to normal.
