Thought about blowing my car up today. If I don't get the aesthetics back under control, I think I will.

Look what happened when I was drifting! The tire did all this as it came apart.

It only took a month to take a rally bad cellphone pic in low light! I'll get a better one soon.

I just added G-FORCE 5pt harnesses today in preparation for some upcoming track time. Yay!

RX7 Diff + Poly bushing. :D

Also poly control arm bushings... total win in the rear. Up front too!

I installed these Spec Miata hardtop brackets. Did the sides last night and the fronts this morning. Also installed a pair of TSI's a few days ago and have a GV lip spoiler sitting in the closet, waiting to go on.

Just curious, noticed you didn't wrap around the roll bar. where did you mount the shoulder harnesses? Are you using a backing plate or is there a structural area back there that I didn't notice.

Mounted my tach, got my oil and water temp gauges mounted as well.

Installed my peter pan coolant reroute.

Installed my injectors and fuel rail.

Installed clutch + flywheel

Wired up the reverse sensor, installed headers + o2 sensor

Tomorrow I want to finish prepping the engine for install. Need to mount the oil temperature sensor and plug my turbo oil drain hole. Also need to drill the mount for the cops.

After that I should be good to goooooo.

Just hoping my wiring is good. And the MS I bought isn't junk.

I don't have anything to hook to on the roll bar because there isn't a harness bar with it.

There isn't much to work with on the driver's side because of the access panels unless you go way to the back. I went through the part that is turned upward at the rear because there are a couple of layers of metal there. I cut 3 x 3 inch backing plates out of 1/8 inch plate. I also used 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts, nuts, and grade 8 flat and lock washers. I think you could pick the car up by one of them but it would tweak the body pretty good. I'm pretty sure the belts will split me in half before they pull out, lol.

The passenger side has a decent expanse of sheet metal that is on the flat portion of the package tray behind the seat. It was much more straight forward over there. Same backing plates and bolts. If for some odd reason they don't pass tech the stock seatbelts are still in the car and are legal for HPDE.

If I were an instructor I would inspect a noobie's handywork with the safety gear before riding in it. I hope they like it.

Put it on a trailer and heading to Track Dog Racing tomorrow for suspension tune, DIYPNP tuning and a few other loose ends. Hope to have it back and running by Halloween and then paint/body complete by Christmas.
