Oh nice, pics of your Kirkeys please sixshooter! :)
|
OK. But it is dark out now so it will need to wait.
My car is pretty mundane. I have made no real cosmetic upgrades to it. I have a strong fear of imminent personal financial collapse due to my line of work that has prevented me from spending much on this Miata. I have only recently relaxed this philosophy a little. I need to start raking it in again to feel comfortable spending much. I need to fully fund my 401k, :) . |
looked at my brake pads, i have burnt through about 1/2 the pad since april. damn

Just bought 270cc injectors :D
|
Pulled one of the doorcards apart to do a reupholstery effort. Fibreboard is up to crap on the main surface of the doorcards bleugh... bought some mdf to make new ones but its a bit thicker so will probably have to shave down a bit round the clip holes.
Also, cleaning sticky crap off the crashpad is a shitty job hehe... I should have just left the vynil on that part and covered over it! :bang: |

Took this out of the box.
https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1314240187 Then attempted to install it. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/...DSCN1211-1.jpg Ran into a few small issues. I really, really want to have the turbo clocked down for cleanliness reasons, however, the size of the compressor is really making it a pain to fit my 2-1/2" piping. I've clocked the compressor as much as I can with out having to worry about shelf clearance. I'm not planning on switching to 2" piping, so I really need to get creative. Also, I think my FM lower radiator hose is going to be menace......FUUUUUUUU I know my pictures suck really bad, lol |
ran all new lines to boost gauge, fixed some stereo wiring. it was a slow day

Also, I think my FM lower radiator hose is going to be menace......FUUUUUUUU I know my pictures suck really bad, lol Often, people will re-clock the aluminum "mixing manifold" water inlet neck toward the front and hook the hose to it up by the pulleys and belts. It sometimes requires dropping $20 in the hands of an aluminum welder depending on how you do it and what accessories you are running. Some fabrication required. The heater return line will be extended/altered/moved as well. If re-clocking the mixing manifold will conflict with your a/c tensioner, I've read that it can be eliminated by choosing a shorter belt and using washers between the compressor and its mounts to adjust tension. I have seen the hotside piping routed through the top of the fender well as an alternative by boring a hole in the sheetmetal between the headlight and the shock tower. But boring through the sheet metal makes most people uneasy (including me). Alternatively, you could make a sharper turn coming out of the turbo and go forward above the air conditioner or simply angle further rearward as it goes down and then curve under the water return down below everything. Or extend the water return hose in an appropriate area by cutting it and installing a length of piping. |
Excited to work on my NA this weekend. NOT excited about the 108 degree forecast.
