^Somebody's looking for power. Bump the base timing from the factory 10 degrees to 15 degrees.

So my block, crank, rods and pistons are away being machined after I kinda
cooked my old motor during the QR300, apparantly 237c is a wee bit too hot.

So I have decided to fit some Murphy gauges and relay wired to the ecu, a clock and basically tidy the inside of the car while I wait for stuff.

I'll post some more when I finish the dash.

I have Prosport premium oil temp and oil pressure gauges. They set off a loud audible alarm and the gauge face flashes when the oil pressure drops or the temp goes above the limit I set. It looks like they come with metric values as well.

Six,
I'm kinda old fashion with this car, early ecu but still has what I need, good idle, nice road manners and the ability to revvvvvvvvvvv and run clean. The gauges are wired up via the Murphy relay to cut RPM to 500 in a "oh dear!!" moment so I can get off the track, and a big "hey stupid" light is also on top of the dash, so shouldn't be too hard to save this motor (I hope).
It quite surprising what you find when your going through the wiring, the mistakes that Race engineers do in wiring up is..........um, bit uhm!!! RUFF!!!

So now I've rewired up the harness for the ECU and tidied up most of the engine bay, I'll just sit here and wait and wait and did I tell you I'm still waiting for my engine bits to come back from the machine shop.

That is a very nice cluster... I love the Mickey Mouse ears!

Yeah, that does look pretty smooth. My gauges have alarms because I can't see them when on the track without looking away from the road. You don't have that issue at all.

Still waiting on machine shop to do the 3rd crank as it was found that the two earlier cranks had some cracks in no 4 big end, were they bad enough to not use??? who knows??? but with the time and money invested in this motor who's gunna take the risk ??????? certainly not me!!!!
Also with a certain supplier who has no idea on what customer service is, not getting back with a shipping quote, parts are still not forthcoming, so will go somewhere else and get my parts (must have something to do with fab in their name, anyone remember what belfab where like)

Fitted up dash and wired all up so now we have done the interior, bar the air vents, wired up all the engine bay, recieved all the other parts that I had on order, cleaned the block , filed the rings, fitted pistons to rods and checked weight, all within .5 gramm, now sit on bum and wait.

dash fitted

I have no experience with Belfab but have heard from others that the owner is quite a dick.

I prefer to deal with 949 Racing for many of my engine parts. Emilio, the owner, is a very nice guy and a very successful racer.
