Default 2004 Speed

Does anyone know if a K&N cold air intake and magnaflow Cat. back exhaust from a 2001 Miata will work on a 2004 Speed

Magnaflow 16638 - Stainless Cat-Back System Performance Exhaust - Single Rear Exit

K&N 69-6000TR - 69 Series Typhoon Air Intakes (Short ram)

Thanks

Rob

Doubtful, since both the intake and exhaust systems are different. However, to be sure......email the manufacturer's and ask.

You might want to check the exhaust diameter. FM uses a 2-1/2" dia. exhaust for their replacement. There would be little improvement with a smaller diameter.

Also, I seem to remember that an exhaust designed for a normally aspirated car (non turbo) will be more restrictive than a turbo car exhaust. The turbo soaks up a LOT of noise, so the exhaust can be more open on a turbo car.

Turbos prefer very low backpressure.

And, yes, everything is different on the 'speed.
