Driving/fog light confusion
Hello,
I have an NB Miata (2004) that I LOVE which I purchased 2 years ago with 40K original on the odometer. I noticed recently one of the driving/fog lights was out. I'm going to call them driving lights because they are not fog lamps. I ordered a new set of LED bulbs (I try to upgrade when I can) and when I looked closer I noticed the light's lens breaking was the probable cause of the bulb breakage in the first place. I was reticent of purchasing from the dealership because the amount they wanted was exorbitant ($250/ea.) and decided to try ol' craigslist. I found a replacement pair a considerable distance away from me, but drove and purchased them. When I actually removed the broken one, the housing on my car was nothing like the ones that were 'NB2' driving lights. The one from my car had the markings "Valeo PBT-ASA-GF30". The ones that were "supposed" to be replacements had a sticker saying they were Belgian made. To make matters worse, the LED bulbs that I ordered that were supposed to fit DON'T FIT EITHER housing; they are the wrong diameter at the base (the one in my car has a narrower diameter and the 'replacement' doesn't even take the same bulb type). Someone please help me unravel this mystery wrapped in an enigma smothered in secret sauce. |
I have the answer if you still have the question.
