Header Wrap and Painting Header

I have an 03 header to plop on my 00. I will turbo next winter, but want to throw this on since I have it. I plan to wrap it to help with heat and just to be considered a cool kid.

My buddy media blasted it and cleaned it all up. My question is, does anyone think it's OK to wrap it without painting it? The VHT paint requires curing it. I don't have an oven that does 600F and won't have it drivable for at least two or three more months so I am afraid VHT won't work. Not to mention the ambient temps are too cold here right now.

It won't last as long as it would with paint, but if you're replacing it in a year, who cares. Wrap it.

LOL, thanks Red.

I'm willing to paint it with VHT, I just wonder if I can paint and wrap it now and do the full curing by driving in a few months?

on a more serious note, i would personally paint it, becuse itll keep it from rusting. then when you turbo you can sell it and it will look almost new.

It will cure just fine installed on your car - paint away!

Even the fiberglass wraps recommend a sealant spray to keep the wrap material from soaking up moisture. For the benefit it gives you, you might as well stick with painting for looks (and later sale like RTM said^^^)

I painted it. if you don't cure it, it comes off more easily. Thats about it.

I don't really buy the moisture sealant theory, if you drive in the rain (and get water on the header) leave the car running for a while with the garage open and the water will evaporate.
