Default Help me make choices on colors.

I'm debating a few things lately.

1. Keep hardtop black. Get black wheels.
2. Paint the hardtop the same color as body. Get black wheels.
3. Paint the hardtop the same color as body. Get bronze wheels.
4. Suggestions????

I like option 2. Bronze wheels on a Merlot are a no-go in my book. Black wheels and black HT would draw too much from the body, but I guess it depends on what wheels. You could try plastidipping the ones you have for a test run of how it would look.

Bronze wheels and black body.

edit: if this were mt.net I'd lock this thread right now, because my suggestion is the only one you should consider.

hahah. I'm not painting the whole body just for wheels. The hardtop is easy enough, but not the whole car!

Thinking of these wheels: Konig Lightspeed 15x7.5 +32 13.6lbs

Here is an idea (not really a suggestion, but it popped in my mind), would it look good if you painted the A-Pillars to match the hardtop?

I would only go with black wheels if you decide to keep the hardtop as is. Otherwise, I would go with a silver or a dark grey.

I had thought about painting the a pillars black to match the hardtop. I'll have to work some PS magic at some point.

I'm for black wheels, gloss black ht, gloss black A-pillar, and lightly tinting side and rear windows.

As for painting the top, merlot will be tough to match perfectly but they might get close. Between fading and the fact that metallic paint flakes seldom lay the same on subsequent repaints, it is a risk. If you do it, don't do a bronze wheel. Semi-gloss or matte black would work well and so would metallic charcoal or other muted gray shades. With a rich color like merlot you want it to be the focus and the wheels should be understated so that the overall impression is one of sophistication. Accordingly, the chrome center caps on those Koenigs would cheapen the look significantly.
