replace damaged wiring in 2011 MX-5 GT
4 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
I parked my 2011 Miata GT over a long dog leash (nylon webbing). So, when I started the car, somehow about 20 feet of nylon webbing were drawn into my engine compartment. This stripped and damaged some wiring. See the attached photo. I was able to gently remove the webbing, but I am afraid to drive the car. How hard is it to replace this wiring by myself, and how much will the repair cost if I take it in to the shop? What's the best repair manual to use for this job? Thx, Mike |
Wow! That's crazy, man!
How did this come out? I see this post went up back in December. Were you able to repair this yourself, or did you bring it in somewhere? FWIW, my 1979 Pinto that I inherited when my father in-law died spent a lot of time out behind my house... un driven and un-loved... by everyone but squirrels. The little sh1theads chewed up a bunch of wiring under the hood of that poor car. It took me several days with a solder iron and a roll of black tape to make it drivable again. Of course, a car that old isn't as complex as our little cars are, right? |
