My name's Mike :wavey: Right now I'm impatiently waiting till spring, I've been autocrossing the car but hopefully I can hit up some track days this season. Just need to get some better brake pads, going with XP8's and stainless steel brake lines from 949. Here are a few pics

Welcome Mike! nice car, glad to have another tracker on the forum!

flying_solo 01-15-2012 05:19 PM

Hello Mike, I have the 949 SS lines and XP8s myself and love them. I didn't have to adjust the front lines a few times to keep them from rubbing though. I'm slowly but surely buying everything 949 stocks, at least it feels that way.

What part of Chitown are you located in? A couple of us are located up North. Diesel and I, just learned we leave two blocks from each other.

Adam

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm on the Northwest side, around Harlem and Irving Park Rd area

You aren't terribly far away from those of us up in Gurnee. You drive that beautiful car in the winter? I like the Black with Red Top Combo, btw.

Slider 01-15-2012 06:00 PM

The car doesn't get driven the whole winter, I hate rust. Thanks, the car is actually Montego Blue, I plastidipped the hardtop white for the time being (easily reversible). I will eventually get it color matched but performance upgrades always come first :D

Man, I just learn about plastidip and it seems like I was the last person to find out about its magic wonders.

I just learned it comes in more than one color! Can plastidip build my ms3 and harness for me?

Lol it's a truly wonderful product, car forums probably increased the sales 1000%, I had a rought time finding it especially in white once the craze hit.

Just like fashion, I'm always late to the party. :) I need to look into what plastidip can do for me. Jayce and Aaron were telling me all about it this weekend.

Nice looking car. What are you doing in the way of suspension mods?

Welcome!

Slider 01-23-2012 07:58 PM

Thanks! I'm on Stance GR+ 8k/6k, I should've went with a stiffer spring up front but I was too exited to finally get rid of my tired suspension with 1 completely dead shock so I just went for it and didn't do much research. In autocross on fast transitions i.e. slaloms it was pretty twitchy, I had to unhook the rear bar and get a racing beat tubular front. I'll probably hook the rear bar back up for track days.
