Hello from Sacramento!

Hello MiataForumz,
I'm new from Sacramento. I'm a college student, and my Miata is my primary hobby. it's an '01 LS with 6-speed and Torsen. I've had the car since February. It's intended to be a prideful daily driver and a weekend autocross/track car. I autocrossed a bunch this season; next season my dad wants to drive too, so I'll be changing the seating pretty soon to get lower (he's 6'4"). I've done a few basic things to the car in the past 10 months - FM V-Maxx coilovers, Hard Core DD rollbar, hardtop, 15x9 TR C3Ms with 225/45 R-S3s, intake/axleback, as well as a slew of minor mods that I won't go into. Here are some pics of the car's journey to today. First off, this is the car I came from. '99 GT, 17x9/10.5, 275/40 in front and 315/35 in the rear. High grip/power expectations. https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530913 The very day I got the Miata https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Roll bar-ized a week later https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Hardtop and autocross soon after https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Coilovers came soon after that screeching, sliding experience https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Black metallic housings, polished it up, started going to meets https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Some time went by... TRM 15x6 +36 C3M wheels with 225/45 NT-01s, GarageStar license plate bracket, new numbers, cut rear bumper https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 More autocross in CSP (treadwear rating prevented me from running STR) https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Took some fancy pictures https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Revlimiter gauges and vent rings, GarageStar shift extender, Voodoo knob, made a switch panel https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 https://www.miataforumz.com/attachme...ine=1320530647 Anyways, that's me and my car thus far! :) |

Welcome to the site! That is a great looking NB. Good list of mods for a pleasant autocross car.
Feel free to browse around, or post some of your photos in the NB photo thread. |
Welcome welcome!! Very nice car, glad to see there is another person into motorsports.
Enjoy the site and hit up the front desk section to read about our upcoming miata of the month feature! |
Welcome!

Welcome! Nice car!
We seem to be getting a slew of really clean NBs as of late. I think I'm going to have to get one... Now how do I convince the wife I need another Miata?:ohnoes: |
Welcome! Do you know Vlad with the white NB out there in Sac?
|
Thank you for the big welcome, everyone. :)
Sixshooter - I don't know him directly, but my friends do and I certainly have heard of him. |
Welcome! very clean NB! I like the nb2 bumpers much more then the msm one.
|
can i ask what your ride height is?
|
he is looking like 3.75-4 and 4.0-4.2 in the last few pictures. the autocross picture is looking a bit more reasonable for performance.
|
They're at the same height. I'm running at around 11.5" hub-to-fender.

lol, I am talking about the first one with the number 92. you are definitely not at the same ride height there. as when you added the coilovers.

LOL! Nope, definitely not. That's on stock suspension, which is around 13.75" hub-to-fender. While I may be a bit on the low side ;), the car handles AX a LOT better than it did stock.
The FM NB kit oringinally shipped with springs that were 3cm too short in the rear. This is the max ride height for the shorter springs. I have the replacements, I just need to get around to swapping them. :) |
Hi everyone! So I am new to Sacramento, I just moved up here from orange county and was looking for meets around the south sac area. I was only told about one off of Mack Rd and Franklin, there was a descent amount of people and cars. I got a drink and saw a vape shop. I'm in to vapeing so I walked in and was talking to the owner's. They actually want to start a meet in front of there shop every Saturday. I guess they are also car guys. They said that they will start it at 7:30pm if anyone was interested. It would be cool to meet up with miata people out here.

Uhh... this thread is over two years old. You may have better luck creating a new one.
Saturday is generally a bad choice for a meet night. Not enough turnout; it's the night where people "go out", not go to a meet. Mack Road and Franklin is also ghetto as ----; I used to work there, and I would NOT go to a car meet there at night. XD We do have some local Sac meets already, if you're interested. The main Roadster meet is every third Wednesday of the month at Shoki Ramen House downtown. All the GarageStar guys usually come out, and a decent amount of local Miata owners. There's also a ricer meet somewhere in S. Sac/N. Elk Grove, but that's too much stupidness for me. |
LOL ghetto huh? Yeah, I am still learning the area's. I will definitely go check out that Wednesday meet! But for now, I'll be at that Saturday meet just because I live down the street from the vape shop. :D Whats the time and address for that Wednesday meet? When I google it but there's two Shoki Ramen House... :(
